Walk in the Woods (June 2007)

description: Once again the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy is sponsoring walks in the four major Pittsburgh Parks. Each walk is led by volunteer docents who can tell you about what's going on in the park, park history, and can talk about the many different types of plants you'll see in the parks. We meet at the restored fountain and gardens at the North Highland Avenue entrance to the park at Bunkerhill Street. Please arrive promptly so we can begin the walk at 6:30 pm as scheduled. The walks are open to everyone but please keep in mind that paths in the woods can be uneven and/or muddy. The exact path we take depends on who shows up for the walk. I don't suggest bringing a stroller for these walks but you might be able to bring your child in something like a Baby Bjorn. If leading walks like this interests you, please let us know because docent opportunities are available. For more information, call Amy Gelzheiser, Special Events Coordinator, at 412-682-7275 ×209.
