This year’s tour is taking place Saturday, September 29th from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. MARK YOUR CALENDERS! The theme is "Renovations and Restorations" and all of the homeowners involved with the tour have done great work on their houses. We have a variety of traditional architectural interiors, as well as some more modern interior renovations, which will be on display for this year’s tour. We are in need of volunteers for the event. There will be two 3-hour shifts; the morning shift is from 10:45 AM to 2:00 PM and the afternoon shift lasts from 1:45 PM to 5:00 PM. Please note that each shift is one hour shorter than last year.
Chairs: Amy Maceyko, Brigette Nadler, & Peter Hughes
The house tour committee is pleased to announce that the next Highland Park House Tour will be Saturday, September 29, 2007. The theme is Renovations and Restorations, and the tour begins at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, which is located at 5801 Hampton Street in Highland Park.
The tour runs from 11am to 5pm, and there are 15 homes on the tour, along with St. Andrew's and Dilworth Traditional Academy, a Pittsburgh Public Elementary School.
The house tour committee is pleased to announce that the next Highland Park House Tour will be Saturday, September 29, 2007. The majority of homeowners who were contacted about being on the tour in 2006 wanted more time to complete renovations, so we decided to not hold a tour in fall 2006.
We are looking to the neighborhood for two things at the moment:
1) We are still in need of 3-5 homes for the tour. Many of the homes on the tour have undergone some sort of renovation and/or restoration. Although this is not a prerequisite for being on the tour, any home with interest and character will be considered.
We just want to extend one more thank you to all of the volunteers, neighbors and especially the homeowners who helped to make the 2005 Highland Park House Tour the success that it was! We had a fabulous group of homes and sites this year, which showed everyone who came to the tour what a wonderful neighborhood we live in. And the gorgeous weather was certainly a great bonus, too.
On Saturday, October 1, 2005 those attending the House Tour sponsored by the Highland Park Community Club will get a peek at the interior of the "King Estate" which the current owners have been restoring since they purchased it from the City of Pittsburgh in 1994.
The 2005 Highland Park House Tour will be on Saturday, October 1st from 11am to 7pm. The tour will include a variety of homes in the neighborhood, including the King Estate, the Union Project properties being renovated by the Highland Park CDC and nine nicely restored and decorated Highland Park residences. The self-guided tour will begin at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church on Hampton Street.
