Walk in the Woods (September 2010)

Come on out for a Walk in the Woods (the park) on Wednesday evening, September 8, 2010 at 6:30pm. We start at the fountain, walk in the woods as much as we can, and end back at the fountain about an hour later. The walk is fun for everyone but keep in mind that paths and steps in the park can be uneven.

Walks in the Woods (July 2010)

Come on out for a Walk in the Woods (the park) on Wednesday evening, July 14, 2010 at 6:30pm. We start at the fountain, walk in the woods as much as we can, and end back at the fountain about an hour later.

The July walks are a little different from the rest: we will hear about an update to the Regional Parks Master Plan with specific topics for Highland Park including rediscovering lost landscape assets, amenities and connections.

The walk is fun for everyone but keep in mind that paths and steps in the park can be uneven.

Reservoir of Jazz Volunteers Needed

We need volunteers for the Reservoir of Jazz again this year. The event takes place on 5 conescutive Sundays starting on August 5th. Volunteer duties include helping to set up tents, carrying tables and chairs, and cleaning up afterwards. Folks are also needed to staff the Highland Park Community Council table. Walks in the Woods (Summer 2007)

Let's take a walk in the park!Once again the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy is sponsoring walks in the four major Pittsburgh Parks. Each walk is led by volunteer docents who can tell you about what's going on in the park, park history, and can talk about the many different types of plants you'll see in the parks.The walks in Highland Park are scheduled for June 6 and August 1.  (There is no walk in Highland Park in July due to the Independence Day holiday.)We meet at the restored fountain and gardens at the North Highland Avenue entrance to the park at Bunkerhill Street. Please arrive promptly so we can begin the walk at 6:30 pm as scheduled.
